If you want to sell your patent, the best place to find a buyer is in a patent database. Every patent is classified by a specific classification. If you do a search in a patent database in the same classification as your patent, you will find patents in the same “family” as yours. Some of these patents show the names and addresses of the Assignees of respective patents. These Assignees are the owners of these patents. They are the employers of the inventors, or they have otherwise purchased the inventions from the inventors. These assignees know the value of an invention in the field of your patent, they know the market, and they probably want to control this market. Therefore, these assignees are the best prospective buyers of your patent.
